Attorney Parkin

Chris Parkin is a dedicated advocate for individuals and businesses navigating complex litigation and employment law matters and leads Buzzi Parkin’s litigation practice. 

He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Connecticut and New York and focuses his practice on:

  • Litigation – Resolving commercial and personal injury disputes through negotiation and courtroom advocacy.
  • Employment & Labor Law – Advising employers and employees on workplace rights, non-competes, separation agreements, and wage complaints.
  • Discrimination Law – Protecting individuals against unlawful workplace discrimination and advising employers on avoiding liability.
  • Business Law – Guiding companies through legal challenges and compliance

Prior to Buzzi Parkin, Chris handled cases from inception through jury selection, trial, and appeal for regional and national firms.  His litigation experience includes employment, housing, real estate, contract, personal injury, and commercial disputes.  He also directed a wide range of litigation and managed the workers’ compensation and auto liability claims program as vice president of an international food distributor. 

Past representative cases include:

  • Weaver v. United States – Negotiated the largest settlement in history for a single-decedent wrongful death claim under the Federal Tort Claims Act ($8.5 million).
  • Echevarria v. Utitec – Earned recognition of the tort of reckless supervision, setting new legal standards for workplace accountability.
  • Bohn v. Denton – Recovered punitive damages in an intracorporate dispute, ensuring fair remedies in high-stakes business litigation.
  • Ware v. Success Village – Secured a trial victory for a cooperative association in an election dispute, reinforcing governance integrity.

Chris earned his law degree at the University of Connecticut and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University.  While in law school, he was awarded a Burton Award for Achievement in Legal Writing, a national award recognizing clear, plain English writing in the law. 

Attorney Parkin resides in Redding, Connecticut where he has been active in the community as a member of the Region 9 Board of Education, past chair of the Redding Board of Education, and past Committee Chair of Cub Scout Pack 118.
